Yakakent - Tourism

Our district is the only seafront district of Samsun where green and blue embrace. It has a 14 km coastline and each square meter is beach. In the centre of the district, there is 2.5 km coastline. In our district which has incredibly clean sea, there is also a sandy family beach belonging to the private sector.
In Yakakent, the sea is very clean and pellucid. In our district, where there are all kinds of fish, you can go swimming in a relaxing and peaceful environment, eat the delicious kind of fish and go for long nature walks and have your days in a most beautiful way.
Also, during the summertime, the tea gardens and amusement places with live music along the coastline offer colorful and lively atmosphere to those who prefer living nightlife as they please.
In our district, the pinewoods present a peaceful and clear environment because they go together with the sea. In Çamgölü area, which is 4 km to the district, you can go swimming and have a picnic in a peaceful environment. Also, Yakakent offers a suitable place for tent and trailer camping to the holidaymakers, who want to be away from the stress and crowd of the city.
Our district, which has the biggest fishing shelter in Turkey, still carries on their works to host the yacht tourism in the near future. On higher parts, on uplands, there is suitable environment for nature walks and picnic.
Uzunkız, Kirazlı, Beşçam, Elikbuyduran and Necati Batı plateaus are available for these activities.

Every year, in the last week of July, the culture and art festivals are held by Yakakent Municipality. Sport, music and cooking contests are organized during the festivals. Panels, sea plays and poetry concerts are organized as well. As the other part of the activities, Turkish-Japanese stands are set up.

ACCOMMODATION
In our district, generally the family guest houses are operated and there are hotels with 20 beds and a restaurant all belonging to the Municipality. Next to them, there are motels with the capacity of 12 families also belonging to the Municipality.
In the district, a teacherage with 15 beds is available. At the entrance of Çamgölü, there are guesthouses and apart motels in the shape of holiday camp.
