The economy of the district is based on agriculture and stock breeding. The arable land of the district is 225 km².
About 46000 ton wheat, 6750 ton barley, 4845 ton grain corn, 6560 ton paddy, 2800 ton triticale, 1548 ton tobacco, 13500 ton vicia sativa (green vegetable), 46250 ton silage corn, 580 ton apple, 123 ton cherry, 165 ton walnut and 75 ton hazelnut are produced annually.
